Our Setting
The Setting
We are a small inviting private nursery, which caters for children aged between 2-5 years. Hadley Wood Preschool and Playgroup (HWPP) has been in existence for over fifty years preparing children for the many challenges they will experience.
Our nursery can be found in the heart of Hadley Wood, which is on the borders of Barnet and Enfield. We are easily accessible from immediate boroughs such as Barnet, Enfield, Cockfosters, Potters Bar, Southgate and Winchmore Hill. HWPP is within walking distance from Hadley Wood Rail Station and 5-10 minutes car/bus drive from either Cockfosters or High Barnet tube stations. There is also a hopper bus 899/399 which runs regularly from Hadley Wood Station into High Barnet.
As a major feeder into Hadley Wood School (HWS), we are but a stone’s throw away from the primary school (across the field) where we have forged a strong partnership, collaborating and working together on many occasions. We follow the same literacy tool; Read, Write, Inc (RWI) which supports children in readiness for their transition into HWS as well as many other primary schools such as Lochinver House and Stormont schools.
We pride ourselves on quality of service with high staff ratios to children; 1:4 in Caterpillars and 1:8 in Butterflies which ensures each child receives individual attention throughout the day from their ‘Key Person’ who supports, challenges and scaffolds their key child’s learning. Where necessary a member of staff will be allocated on a 1:1 basis dependent on the needs of the child.
