Hadley Wood Playgroup and Preschool has been the perfect environment for my daughter. She was a covid baby and was particularly shy of people outside of our family but all the staff have welcomed her and made her so happy and comfortable incredibly quickly. Their support has been amazing for not only her but whole family when adjusting to childcare, welcoming a new baby and even potty training. They focus on a new topic each week and she is absorbing it all and constantly learning. Her development has sky rocketed which is all thanks to the team. She is socialising and making friends, which they actively support and encourage. The trips out into the community on the bus has been a particular highlight for Leah. We feel incredibly lucky that our daughter attends HWPP. Angie and her team are just fantastic.

I'm so thankful to Angie for recognising my son's abilities very soon after admission and, as a result, promoting him to the class above. Angie has stretched Armaan's imagination and abilities and allowed Armaan to grow and mature in a very natural and stress-free way.

It gives me a huge sense of reassurance and relief, knowing my son is well cared for.. mentally .. physically and emotionally.

HWPP is an educational, caring, nurturing and safe environment which Olivia loves. Olivia is always so happy going to HWPP and has been from the first day.

Coco-Lily is an extremely sensitive child who has always been quite attached and uncomfortable in new environments. With this in mind it was imperative to us that we found somewhere that provided a loving and nurturing environment which would enable Coco-Lily to flourish and explore new skills and activities outside of her home environment. I was astounded at how quickly Coco-Lily settled and HWPP has exceeded all our expectations in every department. The staff are so nurturing and always smiling, you can tell they really get to know each of the children and respond according to their individual needs. In addition, Coco-Lily rarely comes home empty handed - whether it’s a painting, a card, a pot of cress or a flower she’s growing, or some freshly baked cookies - there is always something that she is excited to show me from her time at school. Each week the children have a new theme and Coco will always come home with songs and facts she’s been learning about in line with the theme - she even explained aspects of the human anatomy that I would not expect from a 3-year-old. The most remarkable thing of all is that all of this knowledge and learning is done unbeknown to the children, who just see each day as another opportunity to play and have fun. The learning is not forced onto the children, which means they are able to reach their full potential in an organic way, with plenty of free play too. I never thought my child who barely left my side, would be running into and out of preschool every day with a beaming smile. I couldn’t be happier with the setting.

As a mother of three and also a Primary School Teacher, I have been absolutely blown away by the provision. Since our very first visit until present, I walk away from each session filled with confidence that my child receives an excellent standard of education and nurturing. The humble building doesn’t fully depict the high standards that the staff run the setting at, however I can see that the children are absolutely thriving. I was able to see this first hand when visiting as a parent reader. The Tapestry journals will showcase the rich variety of activities planned and resourced for and the attention to detail is finer than I have seen in any other Early Years setting. I decided to transfer my child from a local outstanding setting to HWPP in June of last year, as I felt she needed more challenge (particularly in Literacy) and HWPP have more than surpassed my expectations.

As a parent, I of course want the 7 areas of learning permeated throughout these observations, but also to feel that practitioners really know my child. This is evident in the dialogue documented and the reactive planning, which takes into account not just the interests of the children, but their quirks and personalities too. Independence is encouraged throughout, from smaller tasks like zipping up coats to learning about personal health or safety on outings. Every area of the running of the provision is exceptional and I would personally deem faultless. On a personal level, I strongly value the family feel the nursery has, with every practitioner being committed to the ongoing development of each child. There is a very strong and healthy relationship between parents and staff/leadership, which is a key factor in this successful partnership between children’s home lives and their educational setting. I am confident that my child will continue to make excellent progress at HWPP and her time there will shape her in every way.

I am pleased and proud to say that I sent my three children to the outstanding Hadley Wood Preschool and Playgroup. During their time there my children – Max, Tom and Mia – were nurtured and educated in a most effective way. The youngest, Mia, graduated last year.

As co-chair of the Friends of Hadley Wood Preschool and Playgroup (FHWPP), I can state that since she took over as supervisor, Angie Roberts has taken steps to ensure that the quality of education has been maximised and that safeguarding is of primary importance. HWPP children are happy, content and engaged and that is a result of the hard work of Angie and her team.

I am the grandfather of three children (now aged, respectively, 5, 9, and 11) who attended Hadley Wood Preschool and Playgroup under the aegis of the current Supervisor, Angie Roberts, and her predecessor. I am also Chair of Governors at the adjacent Hadley Wood Primary School.

I can attest to the fact that, in each case, their two years at HWPP provided the children with an extraordinary educational and developmental experience. Good progress in language, mathematical, social, motor, and other skills was palpable, not to mention their sheer joy at joining their friends in a safe, stimulating environment on a daily basis.

The HWPP is also an important feeder to Hadley Wood Primary School, which in turn recognises the importance of the Preschool in preparing children for the transition to Reception.

HWPP is an exceptional nursery. The staff are so nurturing, extremely caring towards the children and work with you to develop your child. The nursery feels like an extension of my family and I trust them completely with my daughter. They have the children’s best interest.

The staff are always friendly and always there to have a chat with you should I ever need to.

I couldn’t ask for a better nursery for my daughter, the nursery and setting is outstanding.

Since my son started at HWPP he has come on leaps and bounds. He is such a chatty little boy, understanding simple commands and knows his numbers and colours. He is so sociable and confident and I know the part that the playgroup has had in this. It is run be the loveliest ladies who go out of their way to arrange exciting games and trips for them. He has a lovely time there and runs in happily without looking back at drop off… and never wants to leave at pick up! Thank you

Hadley Wood Preschool & Playgroup is fantastic! The team of staff are highly experienced and qualified who invest a very caring and nurturing approach along with the exceptional high standard of care, safety, and wellbeing towards the children.

The attention and support that each child receives through learning is key in which they thrive upon in preparation to begin their academic journey into school. The teaching structure is very well thought through and organised with careful planning which allows children to focus, explore and get involved with varied activities and topics both indoors and outdoors.

The updates and communication to parents is excellent whether it be regarding your own child’s personal development through the dedicated communications app with photos and a report or through the weekly newsletter that is sent out collectively to all parents covering learning plans and other bulletin news.

Hadley Wood Preschool & Playgroup has a lovely community feel with teacher, child and parent events which are regularly planned throughout the year whether it be field trips and days out or parent/teacher coffee mornings where it gives parents the chance to meet each other and build friendships.

Most importantly, seeing the development of our child since attending the setting has been exceptional. He is constantly learning new things day by day and his confidence has heightened since being there. He has an immense bond with his key person, along with building lovely friendship with his peers and loves attending the setting.

Above all, Hadley Wood Preschool & Playgroup gives us the trust and confidence that we have made the right choice in placing our child a wonderful and safe nursery which fully deserves the commendation and recognition that this award represents.

Angie and the team have had such a huge influence on my children’s lives. Both of my children have attended the preschool one of whom is now in primary and the other due to also start reception in September.

This preschool is like a family to me, I cannot stress how exceptional this school is from the learning activities carefully planned every day from start to finish, to the nurturing every single member of staff provides for each child, there couldn’t possibly have a better loving, learning environment elsewhere.

Angie has always gone above and beyond for the school and the children. She is a passionate hard working respectable leader of our school. The school has won awards YEARLY.
